Big cats, big personalities and big hearts are coming your way on DStv Access this February.
It’s raining cats and dogs for nature documentary lovers as National Geographic Wild (DStv Channel 182) brings us Big Cat Month, which highlights the work of South African wildlife filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert, with new films and old classics revamped. So, get all your cat facts on track.
There are also series highlighting the bond between people and dogs including the brand-new Man and The Beast, which focuses on how humans and dogs became a team, more vet fun with The Incredible Dr. Pol and dog training with Graeme Hall in Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly.
I Am Shauna Rae introduces us to a little person with a big problem, while plastic surgery addicted twins Darcey & Stacey are back with a new season and, uh oh, Georgi’s back, too! Plus, there’s more 90 Day Fiancé-style action in the brand-new series, Love In Paradise: The Caribbean. And if you like your heartstrings tugged, look out for Extreme Makeover Home Edition Season 10.
Movie lovers, you’ll find everything from action spectaculars like the Taken films, to romantic comedy classics like Deliver Us From Eva and comedy capers like The Gentlemen. And the brand-new series Nurses will give romantics a Telemundo (DStv Channel 118) romantic drama to sink their teeth into.
This February, National Geographic spotlights the status of the big cats around the world with new and classic big cat documentaries (many of which were made by Dereck and Beverly Joubert) every Saturday and Sunday from 18:00.
The Way of The Cheetah
This is Dereck and Beverly Joubert’s first-ever documentary focused on cheetahs. Meet Immani and her 4 new cubs as they navigate the Mara ecosystem. There are 5 males in Immani’s territory, and she must dodge them all to save her cubs while she raises them to adulthood.

Dereck and Beverly Joubert explore the worlds of big cats, particularly African lions and leopards. How have these predators survived and adapted over the 3 decades that they’ve been in the field?
