DStv enriches streaming experience
Customers using the DStv App via Smart TVs, TV boxes and DStv Explora Ultra will notice an improved user interface.
If you enjoy streaming the best of DStv via your smart TV, Android TV, Apple TV, TV box or DStv Explora Ultra, you're in for a treat.
We've completely updated the DStv App user interface on these and other lean-back devices. This means an improved viewing experience for our customers and a sleek new user interface that makes it easy for you to discover and enjoy the best in local and international content.
What is the DStv App?
It’s the online version of DStv where you can enjoy live TV and Catch Up on a variety of devices. We have apps for smartphones, tablets, Android and Apple TV, our DStv Explora and Explora Ultra decoders, as well as selected Smart TVs and gaming consoles.
This update is exclusive to the app installed on lean-back or larger devices. To get these updates, simply download the latest version of the app from the iOS or Android app stores.
The DStv app is available to all DStv customers at no additional monthly cost (data charges may apply).
So, what's new?
We've moved the navigation to the left of the screen so you no longer have to navigate through various layers to discover new shows.
The navigation also offers easy access to search and personal profiles.
The Live TV experience now merges the TV Guide with the channel navigation. This means you can now see what is showing across all channels for the rest of the day while still easily accessing your most recently watched channels.
We've enhanced the TV Shows display with rich poster art as the background. You'll also find that episodes are now sorted in more logical lists with a separate view.
The app also remembers where you stopped watching and allows you to easily resume playing either the remaining portion of an episode or the next episode in the series. Viewers can still add shows and movies directly to their watchlist.
Settings can now be accessed from the navigation, and all of the functions that were available in previous versions of the app remain the same.

If you can’t be at home to watch your favourite shows via your decoder, simply download the app from the Apple or Android app stores and watch DStv on your smartphone, tablet, Android or Apple TV, selected Smart TVs or selected gaming consoles.
