Heritage Month movies on DStv this September
Barakat, uMakoti Wethu & Goodbye Gogo celebrate SA’s heritage on DStv
DStv is celebrating Heritage Month with brand new local movies and returning local favourites.
Throughout September, M-Net (DStv channel 101), M-Net Movies 1 (DStv channel 104), M-Net Movies 2 (DStv channel 106), kykNET (DStv channel 145), FliekNET (DStv channel 149), Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) and streaming service Showmax – will turn up the showbiz spotlight on our stories, our people and our inspirations. It’s going to be a dazzling month at the movies!
Along with returns of favourites like One Night kwaMxolisi, She Is King and Hear Me Move, three new local films will also debut on DStv: Barakat, uMakoti Wethu, and Goodbye Gogo.
This potjie full of local flavour, spiced with the talents of our favourite stars, will be a feast for the whole family.

Barakat
This Afrikaans family drama (with English subtitles) centres on an aging matriarch who's determined to bring her fractured, dysfunctional family together over Eid-al-Fitr because she has good news – she’s found love again! With Vinette Ebrahim, Joey Rasdien, Mortimer Williams, Keeno-Lee Hector, Danny Ross, Bonnie Mbuli, Quanita Adams, Leslie Fong and June Van Merch.

uMakoti Wethu
Zanenhlanhla truly loves her husband, Sizwe, but in the 5 years that they’ve been married, everything has just crumbled. Goodbye Gogo
In this isiZulu drama (with English subtitles), rich matriarch Mrs. Linah Dlamini calls her surviving family members to her bedside in the hopes of making up for neglecting them in favour of her empire. Her hospital room becomes a place where secrets are revealed, marriages are tested and people fall in love. With Thembi Mtshali Jones, Hope Mbhele, Sizwe Khumbuza, Zinhle Zuma and Keke Mphuthi.
