Zee World begins search for the continent’s best dance crew in Dance Africa Dance, this September.
We saw many parts of Africa bust a move when we strutted our stuff for the Jerusalema challenge online in 2020. But that’s just a taste of the talent that you’re about to see.
Africa is youth culture, it’s talent and creativity. Africa is fire.
After a flurry of open auditions from across the continent, Zee World (DStv channel 166) has selected dance crews from 10 nations to compete in the first All-Africa dance competition reality series on TV – Kellogg’s Dance Africa Dance. The crews will face off on stage in Johannesburg, and the winners will be crowned the Ultimate Dance Champions of Africa.
It’s an any crew, any style competition, with just one twist: the music will be 100% Bollywood bangers.
It’s a beautiful fusion of cultures, and the Urban Brew Studios team behind the likes of Idols SA and Family Feud SA is on board to make sure that it’s must-see reality TV entertainment, too.
A Worldwide Sensation
Dance Africa Dance is part of the worldwide Zee TV competition series, which includes the original Dance India Dance (from 2009) and Dance Singapore Dance (from 2015).
Curious about what that must have looked like? Keep watching, because from Saturday, 4 September Zee World will be showcasing dazzling highlights from Dance India Dance, with Dance Singapore Dance highlights coming from Saturday, 11 September.
See the auditions & meet the judges
The Kellogg’s Dance Africa Dance auditions will air daily on Zee World from Sunday, 8 August to Monday, 31 August. And we’ll meet the series host in the week on Sunday, 22 August, with the big judges reveal coming in the week following Sunday, 29 August.

Just a hint? The competition has attracted intense attention from all over, including from the likes of Zimbabwe’s National Dance Association winners, Sesfikile Boys.
