Mzansi Magic announces cast for the upcoming drama series, Queen Modjadji.
Production on Mzansi Magic’s much-anticipated drama series, Queen Modjadji is well under way.
The cast was selected based on their ability to master the Khelovedu language and to closely portray the historic figures that form a significant part of the story in the lead up to Queen Modjadji’s reign.
In February when Mzansi Magic announced the production of the Queen Modjadji story, South Africans expressed their intrigue and this ignited some much-welcomed curiosity and chatter, largely because this is a story that has not been widely told.
Having a talented cast that will deliver and depict the story’s characters respectfully is crucial to the quality of the production.
Get to know the first batch of the characters below. More will be revealed as production progresses, leading up to the show’s premiere in July 2024, but the big question remains…who will play the legendary Queen Modjadji?
