How do I make use of holiday viewing?

You are able to manage your holiday home decoder on multiple DStv support platforms. 

Note: If you choose to Reconnect your Holiday Home decoder then you will be opting to keep DStv on at your home and you will be billed for the additional days you watch while you’re on holiday. You can alternatively save money and switch DStv off at your home while you are away using the Switch option, this will temporarily swap your current DStv Package over to your Holiday Home decoder while you are away. 

It’s important to remember that your decoder needs to be switched on with your smartcard inserted for us to be able to turn on your DStv. Once you have switched on your decoder it can take up to 20 minutes for the signal to come through from our Satellite so, please be patient.  

If you are seeing an E16 you can easily clear the error code via the DStv app or any one of our support channels. 

 

Online via our website 

 

On the DStv website login to MyDStv and go to My Products and select the Holiday Home decoder you want to turn off (look for the Umbrella icon) and either reconnect your DStv or Switch DStv from your main account. 

 

On the go with our DStv App 

 

Download the DStv App for Android or iOS, login to your DStv account and click the Holiday Home quick link on your dashboard, this will take you into our Holiday Home wizard where you can follow the prompts to get setup. You can also turn on your Holiday Home decoder under ‘My Decoders’ on the app, in the same way as the website. 

 

Conveniently from inside WhatsApp 

 

Simply opt-in to our WhatsApp support service and then save our number - 060 060 DStv (3788) on your phone as ‘DStv Self Service’ and say hi to get started. Once you’re set, select option 7 and follow the prompts. 

 

Via USSD 

 

Dial *120*68584# from your phone and follow the relevant prompts to manage your holiday viewing. 

 

Streaming via DStv Now 

 

If you don’t have a holiday home decoder, you can still take your DStv with you wherever you go with the DStv Now app, allowing you to stream live TV directly on your phone or tablet.
