When Personal Injury lawyer Abigail “Abby” Bianchi’s (Jewel Staite) drinking gets out of hand, she is almost disbarred and placed on probation, and even kicked out of home by her husband and kids. The only firm that’ll give her a job while she’s on probation belongs to her estranged father, Harry, the man she blames for everything that’s gone wrong in her life.

Lucy Svensson (Genelle Williams) is Harry’s golden child. She sees Abby as the sister she’s never had but always wanted. And having another woman in the firm? Fantastic! If Lucy has her way, she and Abby will be best friends before sundown.

Daniel Svensson (Zach Smadu) is giving Abby the side-eye. He’s got that lawyer’s killer instinct and when Abby comes in and starts earning their father’s praise, Daniel is jealous not only of her success, but their father’s attention, too.
