About the Show

In this conspiracy thriller series, accident investigator Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi) is called to the scene after The Apollo, a state-of-the-art, high-speed train, derails in rural Michigan. The case places her in the centre of a number of groups with conflicting goals, from shady billionaire tech moguls to cartels and politicians who see the case as their steppingstone. Further complicating her investigation, a mysterious fugitive has fled the wreckage and two murders took place the night of the crash.

Who’s Who

Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi)

Recently widowed former UK-based Transport Safety and Investigations Bureau (TSIB) investigator. Kendra is the world expert on large-scale transportation disasters. She now has a new set of colleagues at the US-based Federal Transportation Safety Authority (FTSA), but she’s still wrestling with the arrest of her mentor Howard (Christopher Plummer) in Departure S1.

Dom Hayes (Kris Holden-Ried)

Transport Safety and Investigations Bureau (TSIB) investigator. Former work partner to Kendra Malley and her most trusted ally and confidante. Dom is working in DC for another agency when the accident happens and reaches out to offer Kendra help and support.

Jordan Cole (Dion Johnstone)

The Apollo is the brainchild of high-profile tech entrepreneur Jordan Cole. It’s part of his vision for a future of green energy and mass transit. The derailment is a PR nightmare but Jordan is convinced, at all times, that he is right and everyone else is wrong, which isn’t going to go down well following the scale of the disaster he has on his hands.

Sheriff McCullogh (Donal Logue)

This local rural Michigan lawman has the grace to realise that the entire Apollo crash, fugitive, and cartel situation is over his head. All he’s used to doing is issuing speeding tickets. But he’ll be as supportive as he can be to the investigating teams. He’s a bit savvier when it comes to seeing through local politician Diana Bright, though (read more about her below).

Lucas Miller (Etienne Kellici)

Young Lucas and his mother were aboard the Apollo, escaping from a terrible family situation, when the crash happened. Lucas has lost his mother, but Kendra and Charlotte team up to take care of him while Social Services tries to find a safe living relative who can take in Lucas. Lucas unwittingly holds key pieces of information about the crash and the cartel case.

Max O’Neill (Jason O’Mara)

Charming prisoner-turned-fugitive Max was aboard the Apollo under escort by a US Marshall (thanks to his ties to the Matulona Mexican drug cartel) when the accident happened. Now he’s on the run and a lot of people want him dead. Max reaches out to Kendra to ask for help.

Ellen Hunter (Karen LeBlanc)

Determined FBI agent Ellen is a woman on a mission to solve the mystery of the two murders that happened the night of the Apollo crash, and the drug cartel case. She and Kendra swiftly become allies and agree to share resources and information. Their relationship is one of mutual respect that develops into a deep friendship.

Charlotte Jensen (Kelly McCormack)

The Apollo crash is FTSA newcomer Charlotte’s first assignment. She is intelligent, plain-spoken and a key member of the team when it comes to inspired ways of dealing with impossible situations. She’s also kind and good-hearted.

Diana Bright (Wendy Crewson)

Slick, smart and born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Diana is marketing herself as a “politician for the people” in an attempt to capture the votes of the working-class men and women of Michigan. Diana sees the crash as an ideal talking point on her campaign, which preaches, in part, the evils of technology.
