"For that, you have to win the games we won in the past, especially the tough ones - Nottingham Forest, with less recovery. It's always tough at Fulham, and now we have to go to Spurs where I never won [in the Premier League]. It will be difficult, but we are ready for it.”

The midweek also features Brighton & Hove Albion hosting Chelsea, as well as a potential thriller between Manchester United and Newcastle United – with the latter match set to be the last at Old Trafford for Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag, who is widely expected to be replaced even if he guides his team to FA Cup glory later in the month.

The final Matchday on 19 May will see the focus fall on Arsenal’s home clash against Everton and Manchester City hosting West Ham United, the two games which will decide the title.

“We go to the last day with a chance to win the Premier League. We wanted to experience that. It is part of our journey, said Gunners manager Mikel Arteta. “And it is 27 wins in the Premier League - that’s not progress, that’s history.

“Some of the players have not been in this position, they don't know what is at stake and how you feel emotionally to have to win and win and win from December or January. It is a phenomenal thing they are doing.”

The battle for European places, involving Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Chelsea will also be a focus, while Luton Town are almost certain to join Sheffield United and Burnley in relegation – unless they can rack up a huge win over Fulham at the same time that Nottingham Forest suffers a heavy defeat away to the Clarets.
