Premier League preview, 11-12 November 2023

The fast-paced thrills of the Premier League will take centre stage for SuperSport viewers on DStv this weekend, with 10 matches scheduled to be played on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November 2023.

DStv is the only true home of football in Africa, offering a range and depth of action that no other rival can match.

DStv also offers a wide range of language options, including English original, Swahili, Ki-Swahili, Amharic, Pidgin, Twi, Luganda and Portuguese, while DStv Stream allows viewers to watch their favourite football live anywhere, any time.

The pick of matches in the Premier League this weekend is the meeting of Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on the evening of Sunday 12 November. This clash pits a Blues team still searching for identity and consistency under Mauricio Pochettino against a Citizens outfit which remains the standard-bearer for English football.

“The challenge is clear, we know the quality they have and what they are capable of,” said Pochettino. “But we also know our own strengths and our own abilities. We must prepare well and work hard on the training field... that will be the foundation for playing a team of this calibre.”

The weekend opens early on Saturday with Tottenham Hotspur playing away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, before the late afternoon kick-offs are headlined by Manchester United hosting Luton Town at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have blown hot and cold at ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ this season but will be hopeful of claiming three points against the Premier League rookies.

Saturday closes with an evening game pitting Bournemouth against Newcastle United, which sees manager Eddie Howe head back to his old employers in search of three important away points.

“I personally feel a huge sense of gratitude to the club and everyone connected with it," Howe said. "I wouldn't be sat here now if it wasn't for AFC Bournemouth. We'll be competing to win the game and are desperate to do so but it will be a special game for us.”

Sunday, aside from the Chelsea v Man City game, also features Liverpool hosting Brentford – sure to be a spicy affair given past tension between managers Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Frank – as well as Aston Villa taking on Fulham, Sheffield United visiting Brighton & Hove Albion, and West Ham United welcome Nottingham Forest to the London Stadium.
