UEFA Champions League preview, 24-25 October 2023

The greatest football in the world will be on offer for SuperSport viewers on DStv, as Matchday 4 action from the UEFA Champions League takes centre stage on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 October 2023.

Tuesday’s top clash comes from Group B, as Arsenal visit Sevilla at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and look to bounce back from a surprise defeat at the hands of RC Lens last month.

“Look, I think it's good for us – we've lost but we can learn a lot from [the loss to Lens] and we can go again. We're ten games into the season, in all competitions, and there are another 50 to go. We're just warming up and getting into our rhythm,” said the Gunners’ Declan Rice.

Tuesday also sees Manchester United with a must-win match at home to Copenhagen, Real Madrid will back themselves to beat Sporting Braga in Portugal, and Internazionale will welcome Salzburg to the iconic San Siro in Milan.

The pick of Wednesday’s games comes from Group F, as AC Milan face Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes. The Rossoneri are chasing their first win of the group, while the Parisians will be looking to bounce back from their stunning 4-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United in the previous matchday.

“It was a bad night for us. We didn’t play like we wanted. We had chances but didn’t defend well enough. Every game is important; we have to make sure we beat Milan,” said PSG striker Goncalo Ramos.

Wednesday also sees Newcastle chasing a home win against Borussia Dortmund at St James Park, Shakhtar Donetsk will hope to upset Spanish champions Barcelona, and Manchester City will back themselves to beat Young Boys in Switzerland.

“I will not judge my team on results,” said City manager Pep Guardiola. “We were not sharp. It happens. Despite that, if you think I will doubt my players, you are wrong. I rely on these guys unconditionally. They prove it.”

If picking just one game to watch is too difficult, we’ve got you covered with the ‘Goals Show’ which features a panel of European football experts covering all the major highlights from every 21:00 CAT match as it happens – LIVE on SuperSport Grandstand.
