‘Howza’, real name Tshepo Howard Mosese, has been described by many in and outside of the industry as a born entertainer. When he is not delivering his customary razor- sharp lyrics into a microphone he can be found playing a role that we all love to hate on TV. A chance meeting with Kabelo in 2004 helped him get a firm foot in the music industry, and he has not looked back since. “Kabelo told me they were starting a record company, and he wanted to work with me, but I wasn’t that interested,†says Howza. “I was dedicated to Gunpowder and wanted to see the group through.†Things didn’t work out with Gunpowder, and Howza knew that he needed a career move. He then featured on four of Kabelo’s tracks on the Bouga Luv album. This led to them forming Blackjack after the massively successful single “Sangenaâ€. His debut solo album was titled Cut to the Chase and it proved that he could stand on his own as a solo artist. The offering also featured the ever-popular hit “Styla Samahala†and the romantic tune, “Can’t hold Backâ€.
