Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo (born in 1980 Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria), known commonly as, D’Banj is a Nigerian based singer and harmonica player. "Dapo" is a nickname for the Yoruba name "Ifedapo" (meaning "Love came together"). He cites Fela Kuti as his "great mentor". He started making serious waves in Nigeria in 2006 with Rundown/Funk U Up album. His most influential tracks are “Why Meâ€, “'Tongolo Remixâ€, and “Booty Callâ€. But when the Curriculum Vitae (Mo Hits Crew Compilation) with the formerly unknown members of Mo Hits Crew, D' Prince, Wande Coal and D'Angelo, his popularity increased and now it has even extended to other parts of Africa especially South Africa and Ghana.
In December, 2010, the Mo' Hits All Stars brought the Koko Concert to Lagos which featured the likes of M.I, eLDee, Jesse Jags and Wizkid. The concert also saw the global premiere of the hit tune “Mr Endowed Remix†featuring Snoop Dogg. D'banj is the founder of Koko Foundation for Youth and Peace Development. He is also Nigeria's first United Nations Youth Ambassador for Peace. 2011 saw the Nigerian become part of Kanye West’s Good Music label.
