This initiative is not only a remembrance of the past struggles but more importantly a vibrant celebration of the present and the future of South African youth.
Youth Over Everything’ highlights the youth, their plights, their dreams and encouraging them to take charge of their narratives and shape their destinies.
As a beacon of youth culture in Mzansi, Channel O not only echoes the rich cultural diversity, but propels young creators, hustlers and influencers forward by giving them a voice to share their stories and celebrate the dynamic and young voices of today. “The youth of South Africa are on the forefront of changing the mindsets of society by continuously being brave, creative and innovative. Zooming the lens closer to the 'Generation of Cool', Channel O is treating the viewers to a groundbreaking variety show called The Gennovators (a combination of Gen Z and Innovators). Featuring the innovators of culture in their respective spaces. Gennovators is a show about young people doing dope-ish, with innovation defining the youth as the technologically inclined generation.
Another must watch feature is a four-part Maftown Heights documentary that tells the story of how the Motswako phenomenon was started in Mafikeng and went on to revolutionized SA music. Featuring Khuli Chana, Tuks Senganga, the late HHP and many more.
