The Festival is a platform for artists to share their stories and connect with audiences on a deeper level. With performances, exhibits, and food stalls celebrating South Africa's rich cultural heritage, the festival was a memorable experience for all who attended.
Bantwini remarks, “What does it mean for a South African to be free in this country? What does it mean for our fellow Africans to feel free in this place we call home? Taken from our national anthem, Sikelela Festival seeks to inspire and celebrate diversity in South Africa. Sikelela Festival is an ode to struggle, freedom and celebration as our country commemorates 30 years of democracy.”
