Bantwini Reminiscing about his roots, Bantwini states stating, "Growing up in KwaMashu, music was a part of our lives. It was in the streets, in the churches, and in the hearts of the people."

Bantwini's rise to prominence in the South African music scene was marked by his unique blend of Afro-house, soul, and traditional Zulu influences – a true celebration of heritage and an imagining of the future of South Africa’s musical landscape.

Now, as Bantwini's star continues to ascend, he has embarked on a new milestone in his career with the inaugural Sikelela Festival. Having taken place at Constitutional Hill on 27 April, South Africa's Freedom Day, the festival was a celebration of music, culture, and unity.

The Sikelela Festival showcased a diverse lineup of artists spanning various genres, from Afro-house and jazz to hip-hop and traditional music. The Festival is a platform for artists to share their stories and connect with audiences on a deeper level. With performances, exhibits, and food stalls celebrating South Africa's rich cultural heritage, the festival was a memorable experience for all who attended.

Bantwini remarks, “What does it mean for a South African to be free in this country? What does it mean for our fellow Africans to feel free in this place we call home? Taken from our national anthem, Sikelela Festival seeks to inspire and celebrate diversity in South Africa. Sikelela Festival is an ode to struggle, freedom and celebration as our country commemorates 30 years of democracy.”

Bantwini reiterated his commitment to making a positive impact, stating, "Sikelela Festival is not just about entertainment; it's about making a difference in people's lives. Through music and unity, we can inspire change and build a brighter future for generations to come."
