On Thursday evening the Big Brother housemates participated in their first wager task. They’d staked 75% of their weekly budget, so the stakes were high.
The task was for the housemates to reveal themselves musically by telling their life story and future hopes through rapping or song.
After 40 minutes, Biggie was unimpressed. “Was that the best you could do?” he asked, before berating them for speaking pidgin in the house, not embracing exercise sessions, and sleeping on the job, particularly before the task.
He then announced that they had lost their wager. And while the housemates themselves may have enjoyed their performance (Head of House Mmeli gave them 80%), social media viewers had mixed views, with Nelisa, Nana and Jenni O being their least favourite presentations, and Kangaka Jnr, Yaya, Lukay, Yemi and Ebubu being their favourite.
A chastening experience, the loss may have deeper implications next week.
