Day 49: Is this one of the housemates’ worst weeks? – BBTitans

News
05 March 2023
Tough on the housemates from the jump. Fights, fretting, and failure have been the order of the day, and tonight’s eviction still looms.
not quite mushroom

The week started out pretty well for the housemates – the live eviction show resulted in a grand total of zero people being evicted, something that would have brought them no end of relief, until they did the maths: they’re halfway through the game, and two-thirds of the housemates still remain. It doesn’t take a savant to realise that the next few weeks are going to be tough.

Ipeleng and Blaqboi seemed to get the picture pretty quickly. Immediately after the show, the two sat down to start discussing nomination strategy. Ipeleng seems to be frustrated with Yemi Cregx’s and suggested that they nominate Yelisa. She also said that they should save Royals, if they had the power, because they want the “stronger pairs” to compete against each other. This is obviously a valid strategy, but it reveals something: Ipeleng sees the Royals easy competition.

It might have come as something of a surprise to Ipeleng, then, when Royals became the first pair to win the Head of House a second time. Putting salt into the wound is the fact that the team Royals had to beat out in the finals was none other than Blaqleng. Following their historic win, the housemates were quickly herded into an emotional nomination session.

Tsatsii and Ebubu would have been over the moon with their second win, but they quickly came crashing back down to earth. Following the nominations, Biggie informed the house that Royals would not be given the right to Save and Replace, because Tsatsii had broken the rules by petitioning certain housemates not to vote for certain others.

This is, of course, an egregious violation of the house rules, and the punishment was not over, yet. Despite being Heads of House, Royals were stripped of their immunity, and inserted into list of nominated housemates. Thus, Royals are not only the first housemates to be Heads of House twice, but the first Heads of House to be up for eviction.

The twist certainly left its mark, and the other housemates were taken aback by the nature of the punishment. That said, most of them understood that violations of the rules must be met with consequences.

It’s worth noting that all of this drama came after the wager task for the week had been briefed to the housemates. While the nature of the task – kindness – is all good and well, the week’s start would have put a major damper on any positive feelings that would have started to take root.

Soon enough, the stress of the week began to leave its mark. Ebubu was feeling the strain of his position as Head of House, and shared his feelings with Olivia, who was not exactly having the best of times either (more on this later). That said, Ebubu ripped up the dancefloor last night.

Then, because it was a day of the week that ended in “-day”, Khosi and Miracle OP had an argument. To be fair, they have a lot of these, and this one was not exactly any worse than the previous ones, but that’s the point: it was just as silly. The two have been arguing with each other about so many things for so long, we’ve lost count. Even their most recent diary session led to arguments and tears.

It’s clearly getting to the point that the other housemates are getting fed up. Juicy Jay expressed his intention to speak to Miracle OP and tell him, basically, to back off, because Khosi is starting to feel the strain. Of course, there are plenty of arguments to make that would suggest he isn’t solely to blame, but it does seem as if his earlier infatuation with Khosi might have something to do with their constant bickering, as well as his strained relationship with Yemi Cregx.

Whatever the case may be, it seems that Miracle OP is ready to move on, even if he’s moving on to places he’s not welcome. His recent attempts to convince Ipeleng to get involved in a situation with him did not go well, and the conversation basically ended with a bemused Ipeleng saying, “goodnight”. It’s clear that Miracle OP didn’t like this turn of events, but he’s just going to have to live with it.

We mentioned Olivia earlier, and now it’s time to give her some proper attention. As joint Tail of House alongside Juicy Jay, they have been tasked with giving out four massages to other housemates per day, each. This did not sit well with her, and she shared her thoughts on the matter. Juicy Jay seems to be getting frustrated with her attitude, and just wants her to get over it and tackle the punishment with some humour.

Then there are the smaller annoyances going around. Tsatsii tried to find a subtle way of telling Thabang why Nelisa was giving him the cold shoulder, but he expressed annoyance with Nelisa and a total disinterest in her reasons, which – in turn – annoyed Tsatsii. Again, Thabang was unfazed. He just wants to be left alone, it seems, and not take responsibility for anyone else’s happiness and bliss.

As if the week wasn’t going poorly enough, the wager task presentation was described by Biggie as “tedious”, which – we think it’s safe to assume – was not what the housemates were going for. Viewers would not have been overly surprised by the outcome – the downer of a week was not conducive to useful preparations. Their loss means that 75% of their BB Tokens are now up in smoke, so the next week is not exactly starting on positive note.

Finally, Friday brought a glimmer of hope. The housemates decided to switch things up, with the ladies dressing up as men at a strip club, and the guys dressing up as that club’s talent. It was silly, and it brought a smile to our faces and those of the housemates. It was much needed.

The Friday night games brought the usual opportunity to blow off some steam and – for the winner – a chance to win USD $1000. Clearly, the fact that there can only be one winner means that it’s not likely to bring joy to the entire house, but the distraction should be welcome. In the end, the winner turned out to be Justin, who's come out of his shell, somewhat. In the words of Big Borther, "JuJu Baby has now become a Justin the Man."

We could go to town on DJ Toy puns – the fact is, the continent gives, and here was our latest eg. 🔥

Please all get better housemates – that finishing line is in sight ...
