The second season of ENO has just started but the drama is already too much and too hot to handle. Right from the get-go, Abena Baafi is already throwing tantrums and looking to tear Bessa apart - her reason, Nana Akua Sarpong - a daughter living abroad who decides to meet her sisters at all costs.
A storm is already raging in Bessa and Abena Baafi’s home with one daughter's departure and another's arrival in the person of Nana Akua. Overly protective mother, Abena is already worked up and has to deal with this new addition.
Nana Akua’s arrival has set in motion many wheels from the past and the present and may trigger even future wheels to start grinding slowly since Bessa the father of the girls, just patched things up with Abena and is using his influence and affluence as a tramp card to avoid his wife’s fury.
However, the calm and quiet may not suffice with Nana Akua gatecrashing Abena’s peace and introducing herself as the other daughter of Bessa, who has evidently longed to have sisters having lived as an only child for so long.
Nana Akua has a tall order before her, as it stands because she would have to work her way into the lives of three different women she has never met before - Abena Baafi, Tessa, and Safowaa. Will Nana Akua ever see eye-to-eye with her stepmother and accord her the respect she rightfully deserves? Will she be able to love her sisters without appearing to be doing too much? How will her relationship with her father turn out now that she has turned up and opened a can of worms he would have loved to stay a secret until the opportune time?
Now for Bessa, this new addition would mean that issues of trust may arise since Nana Akua is almost the same age (separated by one week) as Tessa, his first daughter, and may cause him to lose the new-found respect and love his other daughters have in him. Not to mention his unending apologies to Abena having been blindsided by Nana Akua’s unannounced arrival.
Abena Baafi would have to relive the trauma of losing Bessa the first time and deal with the fact that there was and always would be another woman (or rather daughter)in the picture who would be tied to the family forever. Abena would also have to welcome, accept, and live with Nana with the hopes that they may share a mother-daughter bond as time passes. Will she grow to accept her? Time will tell.
Tessa, who was the first person hit with the news of having another sister, will be reeling in shock for a while until all the dust settles. She would have to deal with the fact that she is the same age as Nana Akua and would not be happy with the idea of what her dad had been doing knowing full well that Abena was carrying his child.
Safowaa, knowing how she can be at times, would be cool over the situation and accept things as they are, after all, she is their sister and there would be very little to do to change that fact. We also predict that Safowaa and Nana Akua would likely have a stronger bond than the latter may have with the rest of the family.
Nana Akua Sarpong may have her job cut out for her, but we are definitely in over our heads by the drama that is coming and will be following things closely on Mondays at exactly 9:00 pm on Akwaaba Magic DStv CH 150 and GOtv CH 102 to see things unfold.
