Okomfo Kusi is in discussions about how to infiltrate the Denkyerahene's palace and poison him. One of the plotters insist on killing the Queen-mother, Dufie and Ntim as well but Akoto says only Denkyerahene and Gyaasehene must die

With the help of Akoto, Ntim hatches a daring move to break Mansa out of prison to keep her away from getting harmed by the Denkyerahene over an attempt to poison him in the palace. Mansa is adamant but Ntim insists she leaves immediately

Ntim hesitantly agrees to marry Abrafi and ditch Mansa so that his father and council of elders will discontinue making life a living hell for her. He breaks the news to his mother after she pays him a visit.

Akoto angrily goes to see Abrafi in her father, the Gyaasehene's house after the two earlier clashed in the palace after Abrafi was betrothed to Ntim in marriage. Gyaasehene still stands by his decision to break Akoto's affair with his daughter
