It is true what they say that “old flames die hard” and this old idiom is the reality of the ex-couple, James and Lankai Morgan, who were separated by circumstances greater than both, leading to a divorce.

Everyone knows Lankai to be a ‘hard girl’ but it was obvious that she was hit hard by the separation, coupled with the fact that she was losing everything she built with the man she was married to.

In the face of all this and even murkier situations with Lankai marrying Major, Caroline getting pregnant and soon-to-be-married to James, the former lovers still share a lot in common and may very much likely be in each other's lives for a very long time.

First off, James and Caroline are parents to Noah and Sarah and this gets them to stay in each other’s business from time to time. Lankai has on many occasions had to cooperate with James to ensure the safety and welfare of their kids. 

Typical of parents, Lankai and James stepped in when the news of Noah being the father of Ama’s baby came up. Both parents are still working overtime to ensure their son is doing the right thing by deciding to care for the child. They all even had to employ some scheming means to determine that Noah is truly the father of the baby by secretly trying to get a DNA test done. Lankai and James have also separately had personal conversations with their kids to ensure they are doing well and staying out of trouble. 

Secondly, the former couple now share a little secret - an affair they had after James visited Lankai to discuss their kids. In what could be best described as an emotional moment, James hugged Lankai midway through their conversation and things took off fast after that, leading to the couple reliving a steamy moment of when they were Mr and Mrs Morgan.

Now, both, seeing other people, (with Lankai even married to Major and James about marrying Caroline) would have to guard their tongues to prevent this affair from getting to the ears of their current partners. James however might cave under pressure due to Caroline giving him attitude after she discovered he had visited his ex-wife. 

Again, Lankai’s political ambitions indirectly keep her tied to James despite their divorce because her opponents would do anything to ensure she is tied down at all costs. It is common knowledge that Van is out for Lankai’s blood and is playing a dirty game to ensure he ties in Sarah’s illegal dealings with Jude, Kevin Aal, and Saul to paint a bad picture about Lankai and rubbish her political bid.

The former couple would therefore need to play their cards right and keep their house to stop Lankai’s political enemies from making capital out of her family’s shortcomings and dealings. Lankai has made it abundantly clear to everyone that their actions rub off her and has already warned everyone to steer clear of negativity.
