When it comes to love, things are rarely simple—but add in politics, royalty, and a looming war, and you've got a whole other level of chaos. Prince Ameh is living proof. With his father, the Onu of Ajogu, away, it’s up to Prince Ameh to take over the throne. Easy, right? Not so fast. Tradition says he has to get married first, and the moment he tries, things get... complicated.
Iyoma, the love of his life (but not of his mother's)
Prince Ameh has fallen for a woman named Iyoma, who hails from a humble background. In a perfect world, they’d be married already, but Ajogu’s society isn’t here for that storyline. Neither is his mother, Queen Agbele, who’s dead set on “preserving” the royal bloodline. She loves her son, but that love apparently doesn’t extend to letting him marry the woman of his dreams.
The chiefs and their daughters
The council of chiefs isn’t any more supportive than his mother. In fact, they’re even more invested in this decision because they want Prince Ameh to marry one of their daughters. Chief Alewo, in particular, is practically throwing his daughter Ajifa at the Prince, showering him with gifts and thinly-veiled threats to win him over. The best part? Ajifa is actually in love with Prince Ameh’s best friend, Akoji. Awkward!
Oh, and Iyoma’s got a secret (with Prince Ameh’s name all over it)
While society sneers at Iyoma for being a single mother, they don’t know the real twist: her child is actually Prince Ameh’s. Yep, you heard that right. Prince Ameh has a whole secret family situation that’s staying hush-hush to protect Iyoma and their child from society’s harsh judgment (and, let’s be real, potential danger).
Meanwhile, there's a war waiting in the wings
As if that wasn’t complicated enough, a neighbouring village keeps poking Ajogu, and things are getting tense. But without his official title, Prince Ameh can’t make any major decisions to protect his people. And guess what’s blocking his path to the throne? That’s right—marriage. And his family, the chiefs, and society as a whole aren’t making this journey easy.
So, will Prince Ameh be able to untangle his love life, appease his family, and save his village? Tune in to Omera every weekday night on Africa Magic Showcase at 8 PM to watch the drama unfold.
