Hero D Profile

A native of Anambra State, Hero began his broadcasting career in Nigeria at the age of 13 as a presenter for the Anambra Broadcasting Service. Over the years, he has hosted several shows with Ebonylife TV and Linda Ikeji TV. In 2016, he hosted Africa's biggest carnival (Calabar Carnival) for ELTV. In 2017, He had the honor of representing Nigeria at TLC's Next Great Presenter search, held in South Africa and organized by TLC Africa.

In 2018, He hosted one of Nigeria’s most rated satirical TV shows, The Report Card. The Show remained at the top of the YouTube trend rankings for 13 consecutive weeks, peaking at number 1 in Week 7. His latest assignment was hosting Nigeria's most prominent science quiz competition, InterswitchSPAK, which kicked off in 2019 and is still going strong to this day.

Hero started out telling jokes in the living room of his parents, where he would gather his family together. His father has a fun personality, which he attributes to his sense of humour. His parents, like most African parents, never saw comedy as a career option. "That's your first joke right?" Hero's father responded when he said he wanted to be a comedian.

Since then, Hero Daniels has performed in comedy shows in Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania. In December 2021, He performed for one hour at his one-man comedy special “ That’s a joke right? “. He is also set to film his second comedy special “ Black Friday Child” at Terrakulture theatre in December 2022. Hero loves to read, travel, and just enjoy life in general.

Watch Hero Daniels host Come Play Naija every Thursdays and Fridays from 9pm and every Saturday from 7pm on Africa Magic Showcase, Urban and Family.
