Day 57 – 23 Sept: Past, present, future – BBNaija

The housemates go all in for the penultimate week.

The housemates have plenty to be excited about. There are only two weeks left in the No Loose Guard house. Two weeks until we find out who will be the winner of Big Brother Naija season 9. But there is still plenty to keep the housemates occupied, not least of which is another wager presentation, upon which they have yet again staked 100%.

This week’s theme is “Past, present, and future”. A most fitting theme, given that it’s time to start wrapping up the journey for the eleven remaining housemates. But the task is no mean feat. They must explore Nigerian history and culture through the lens of the past, present, and future, stretching back to the 1960s and projecting into the future “to envision how technology will reshape cultural practices”. But will they be able to stay focused and continue their winning streak?

They’ll be led by Kellyrae, this week’s Head of House and the season’s first finalist. What kind of leader will he be? Will Onyeka take the reins during the preparation? Will the housemates be too distracted, given that everyone (bar Kellyrae and Sooj) is on the nomination chopping block? That’s what faces the housemates at present.

Meanwhile, will thinking about the past make them reminisce about weeks gone by in the house, making them pine for those who have left even more? And with the end near, are they contemplating more often about what they’ll do once outside the house, possibly a whole lot richer and definitely a whole lot more well known. As Biggie said, this week is going to be all about “relieving the past, appreciating the present, and anticipating the future”.
