Aged between 58 and 60 , Oviyon’s mother is fiercely protective of her son, the only son to survive out of six conceptions. A hypochondriac, she has always been obsessively careful of her health and paranoid about illness, especially since her second miscarriage when she felt the baby may have been lost because of something she did or ate.

Having said that she does play up her condition to get what she wants, especially when what she wants is to have her son close by, or to get him to do what she wants. She is also something of a mild alcoholic, enjoying her concoction of herbal liquors not just for the treatment she believes she needs but also for the buzz it gives her.

There is no love lost between her and brother-in-law Fonton, and the two often engage in different methods of blackmail to get what they want from each other. She plays fast and loose with morals, often arguing that the end justifies the means.

She has a strong hatred for the Minasu family, not just because of the feud caused by their children many years ago, but also because she blames Senami’s grandmother for all the children she lost.
