It’s seems A’rese being announced as The Voice Nigeria season one winner did not stop the remaining three Talent from the top 4 and other Talent who participated last year from making impressive noise already.
Chike
Chike was runner-up to A’rese on The Voice Nigeria 2016. Like Brenda, Chike also signed to Universal Republic after which he released his debut single, “Fancy U”. He also shot a music video for the single. Chike is also dabbling in the acting world as “Mayowa Badmus” on Africa Magic Showcase’s telenovela Battle Ground. Chike is also an ambassador for Airtel! Not bad at all for runner up!
Brenda
Brenda, who was in Team 2baba, was one of the Top 4 last year and while she did not win, she has shown she walked off that stage a winner. Since the finale, Brenda has signed to Universal Republic and has released a colourful music video for her new single, “Stand”. No one can say the girl does not love what she does.
Cornel
Also signed to Universal Republic, Cornel has since released his debut single, “Smile Again”. Watching the video, you couldn’t have expected anything less from the powerhouse singer.
A’rese
While it must have been hard not to come out the winner following a strenuous season one, it couldn’t have been any less hard for the winner, given that she now has to live up to the hype. And indeed, A’rese did.
Apart from releasing her debut single “Uwe No” featuring Ladi Poe s well as a music video, A’rese acted in long running Nigerian hit telenovela, Tinsel as “Bisola Beko-Williams” briefly before securing the lead role, “Senami George” in the Africa Magic TV series "Jemeji".
Other Talent from Season 1 who seem to also be making some noise are:
Theodora, who the coaches once compared to Tina Turner, has also released a single, “Gini mere”. Viveeyan and Linda 1nneka have both also released debut singles – “The Bull’s Eye” and “Loke Loke” respectively. Nonso Bassey is currently starring alongside Chike on The Africa Magic Showcase telenovela, “Battleground”.
