Ireti is a quiet woman who has seen many hardships. She has a son who suffers from a congenital heart defect and must undergo surgery. 
Nine years ago, Ireti left her hometown for her maternal uncle's hometown, Oke-Ala, to help him briefly care for his children. There, she met Jomiloju, who eventually became her lover. However, their rosy love story went sour as Jomiloju left unannounced, Leaving Ireti with a child to fend for herself.

A disappointed Ireti vowed never to reach out, only to move to the Olanrewaju compound to find her son's father living in the same house with his wife.
