“Zaddy dey here so!” That ‘sing along’ line has rung in our ears almost every night since the Live Shows started. It is always preceded by a spectacular performance by Zadok, one of the Finalists of Nigerian Idol Season 7.
The first time we met Zadok, he introduced us to his big sound with a rendition of Michael Bolton’s 'When a Man Loves a Woman' at his Audition. He got three 'Yeses' and proceeded to Theatre Week. Watch his Audition performance below.
During Theatre Week, Zadok breezed through his performances, down to his Duet Performance with Jitey, where he performed Calum Scott’s 'You Are The Reason'. After his Duet Performance, his last step into the spotlight was a SoloPerformance which would determine if he was going to make it to the Top 12. He was given the song 'If' by Davido which was a bit tricky because the song was more about his performance skill and not too much about his voice. Zadok however pulled through and delivered a performance that earned him a spot in the Top 12. Oh! That performance was also the first time we heard him sing his famous line “Zaddy dey here so”.🎶😂
Zadok went on to give us amazing performances that stuck with viewers through the Season. One of which was a stunning performance of 'When a Man Loves a Woman' by Michael Bolton. The performance was so good even Michael Bolton reposted it on his social media handle. Watch that amazing performance below.
Zadok has had the fortune of having many more musicians he covered repost his performances. This happened with Timi Dakolo when Zadok performed 'The Vow' and Kizz Daniel when he performed the hit song 'Laye'. Check out his performance of 'Wish Me Well' below.
Zadok is a prime example of someone finding their strength and working overtime to achieve greatness with it. We can’t wait to see the greatness he achieves in the music world and wish him all the best.
