At first glance, Omera comes off as your typical high-energy guy, deeply passionate about his goals. But take a closer look, and you’ll see he’s layered in all the wrong ways. Brash, opinionated, and somehow convinced he’s always right, Omera’s selfish streak runs so deep he doesn’t blink when selling his family’s home—leaving them potentially homeless—all to fund his “get to Canada” dream.
Dreamer or disaster?
Let’s talk about his “I’m-always-right” attitude. Omera quit his job in a blaze of glory, calling out his coworkers’ incompetence like a hero in his own story. But tact? Not in his dictionary. His righteous crusade would be admirable, maybe, if he didn’t act like he’s above criticism. It’s his self-righteousness that makes him a tricky character—one minute you’re rooting for him, the next, you’re questioning his sanity.
Family comes second...to Canada
Omera was so focused on his Canadian japa dream that he jumped at the first offer, skipping all common sense and background checks. The result? A fake visa and a failed plan, capped off by selling the family house without a second thought. Callous, much?
Exit the city, enter the village
Now, he’s back in the village, supposedly learning from his epic fail, but he hasn’t. Instead, he’s strutting around the village with a condescending attitude, bossing around the AEF staff, and clinging to a project he hopes to use as his new ticket to Canada.

Ruble in the dirt
Omera is not all flaws though. There’s a bit of redemption in him, even if it’s buried deep. He’s nothing if not passionate and determined. His commitment to building two new boreholes for the village of Ajogu is a testament to that. Amid death threats, a tight budget, and unhelpful staff, he stands his ground. Even when a fight breaks out on the job site, he doesn’t back down, proving he’s at least willing to fight for what he believes in.

Passport to redemption
Omera’s return to the village was supposed to be a path to redemption, but as it stands, he’s miles away from that goal. Can he turn it around? Find out on Omera, airing every weekday at 8 PM on Africa Magic Showcase.
