How to vote on All Stars – BBNaija

The Big Brother All-Star Season will commence on 23 July 2023. In anticipation of what will be the biggest Season of Big Brother Naija, we have put together this piece to educate you all about how to support your favourite Housemate with your Votes. 

Voting this Season will take place on the mobile and website as well as the MyDStv app and MyGOtv app. Voting on the MyDStv and the MyGOtv apps is open to active DStv subscribers with eligible packages only.

To vote on the website, mobile site, and apps, you will register with your name, surname, year of birth, gender, location, and cell phone number before or during the Voting round.

Voting countries for the MyDStv app, MyGOtv app, web, and mobile site

Depending on where you reside, some Voting platforms may or may not be available to you. An example of this is the MyGOtv app which is only available in seven countries. These countries are Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Uganda, and Zambia.

Tiered voting packages

Voting on the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps is in tiers. This means more Voting points are tied to higher subscription packages on DStv and GOtv. Therefore, the higher your subscription package, the more Voting points you get. Check out the table below for subscription packages and the points tied to them.

Registering on the Big Brother website:

If at any point you want to Vote on the Big Brother Naija website, here are the steps to follow to ensure that you can register to Vote. 

• You can register to Vote on the Africa Magic website– africamagic.tv/bigbrother
• Click on the Vote menu item.
• Click on Register and enter your name, surname, year of birth, gender, location, and cell phone number in the international format e.g. +234731234567, and your preferred password
• You will receive an OTP (One Time Pin) via SMS.
• Enter your OTP
• Once registered, you will be able to Vote after the show.

• Website Votes are free.
• Data costs apply.

Voting on the Big Brother website if you’re a registered voter

When you are done with registering on the website, here are the next set of steps to follow to Vote on the website.

• You may Vote for your favourite housemate via the Africa Magic website– africamagic.tv/bigbrother
• Click on the Vote menu item.
• Click on Login and enter your cell phone number in the international format e.g., +234731234567.
• Enter your chosen password
• Select your favourite housemate.
• Enter your number of votes and cast your vote by clicking VOTE.
• Votes on the website are limited to 100 votes per user.

• Website votes are free.
• Data costs apply.

Registering on the Big Brother mobile site

If you would like to cast your Votes through your mobile phones, here are the steps to take in registering on the mobile site. This is the first step to take to have the ability to Vote on the mobile site. 

• You can register to vote on the Africa Magic mobile site– africamagic.tv/bigbrother
• Click on the Vote menu item.
• Click on Register and enter your name, surname, year of birth, gender, location, and cell phone number in the international format e.g., +234731234567 and your preferred password
• You will receive an OTP (One Time Pin) via SMS.
• Enter your OTP
• Once registered, you will be able to vote after the show

Voting on the Big Brother mobile site if you’re a registered voter      

When you are done with registering on the website, here are the next set of steps to follow to Vote on the website.

• You may vote for your favourite housemate via the Africa Magic mobile site– africamagic.tv/bigbrother
• Click on the Vote menu item.
• Click on Login and enter your cell phone number in the international format e.g., +234731234567.
• Enter your chosen password
• Select your favourite housemate.
• Enter your number of votes and cast your vote by clicking VOTE.
• Votes on the mobile site are limited to 100 votes per user.

Registering on the MyDStv or MyGOtv App (active DStv subscribers with eligible packages only)

If you will be interested in casting your Votes with the MyDStv and MyGOtv app when Voting rounds begin, take a look at the instructions below.  

• You can register to Vote by clicking on the “Explore More” button inside the MyDStv or GOtv App.
• Then click on “Vote for Your Winner” and follow the instructions to register to Vote.
•  on Register and enter your name, surname, year of birth, gender, location, and cell phone number in the international format e.g. +234731234567, confirm your smartcard number and your preferred password.
• You will receive an OTP (One Time Pin) via SMS.
• Enter your OTP.
• Once registered, you will be able to vote after the show.
• MyDStv and MyGOtv App votes are free.

VOTING LIMITS & COST

On the web and mobile site, each user may cast 100 Votes per Voting platform per Vote round. This means;

• Web – 100 votes  
• Mobi – 100 votes  
• Network data costs will apply for the use of the internet on the web and mobile

On the MyDStv app or MyGOtv app votes are allocated based on your subscription package/tier (active DStv subscribers on eligible packages only). Below are the Vote limits based on DStv and GOtv packages.

How to play Games for additional votes via the MyDStv or MyGOtv App (active DStv subscribers with eligible packages only)

On Big Brother Naija All-Stars, you can get additional Votes points by playing the games in the MyDStv or MyGOtv app. Follow the steps below to know how to get started.

• Download the MyDStv or MyGOtv App from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
• Log in to the app by selecting your country of subscription and using your surname or mobile number and smartcard number.
• Once you’ve logged into your MyDStv or MyGOtv app account page, look for the “Explore More” button.
• Click on “Play our Quiz Games” option and follow the instructions to play the games.
• After playing each game, click on “Vote Now” to convert your points to votes. Or click on “More Games” to play more games.

How to post a message to TV via the MyDStv or MyGOtv App (active DStv subscribers with eligible packages only)

Here’s a cool additional point about how you can support your favourite Housemate. You can show your love for them by sending nice messages to TV that show your support via the MyDStv or MyGOtv apps. Take a look below at the process involved in getting your message to TV. 

• Post your messages to appear on TV on the MyDStv or MyGOtv App.
• Download the MyDStv or MyGOtv App from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
• Log in to the app by selecting your country of subscription and using your surname or mobile number and smartcard number.
• Once you’ve logged into your MyDStv or MyGOtv app account page, look for the “Explore More” button.
• Click on the “See Your Message on TV” option.
• Select an avatar for your message and click on the text field to type your message. 
• Then click the submit button to send your message to TV.
