Dynamite comes in small packages and that rings true for Gen Z Baddie, the youngest All Star, queen of the Baye Tribe and Nigeria’s latest multi-millionaire, Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye.
The Gen Z Baddie dropped to the live finale show floor and crawled across the stage in disbelief when her name was announced as the ultimate winner of the first ever star-studded season.
Prize package
Over and above the 120 million Naira cash prize, Ilebaye walks away with a weekend getaway for two by Travel Beta, an Innoson car, a Techno phone, Nexus appliances and one year supply of Pepsi, Dano, Munch It, WAW, Hawaii Soap, Titus, Lush and Sardine products.
"I'm so surprised, I'm so so surprised," she told Ebuka about making top 2, before being announced the winner of the season.
An all-girl Top 3
For the first time in the history of Big Brother Naija, with a total of 20 All Stars, it was down to a top 3 from the same gender and it was all ladies; Ceec, Mercy Eke and of course Ilebaye. The Gen Z Baddie seemed pretty nervous as she stood alongside Big Brother Naija strong personalities and all-time firm favourites, Spartans leader Ceec and self-titled queen of highlights and winner of Big Brother Pepper Dem, Mercy Eke aka Lambo.
Well, the girls had already knocked out fellow finalists Cross, Pere and Adekunle, in that order.
It was a tough ride for Ilebaye
Meanwhile, Ilebaye endured a tough time in the house, surviving occasional ridicule and teasing from her fellow housemates, shedding a few tears and skating on thin ice for a good part of the season after receiving a double strike just two weeks into the game, leaving her with one more strike and she would be immediately evicted from the Big Brother house and disqualified from the game.
This meant that she had to set her sights on her game and keep it clean as all eyes were on her to slip – the guys actually plotted to oust her from the game at some point as her two strikes had rendered her an easy target.
She managed to maintain her cool but was taken aback when her All Stars buddy Doyin didn’t pick her as one of her BFFs when she made head of house, regardless of their differences at the time. Actually, no one picked her until seven weeks into the season when Big Brother’s guest Sholzy made HoH and gave her a spot to finally experience the HoH mezzanine for the first time.
Victory at last
Two weeks before the end of the season, Ilebaye proved herself to her fellow housemates when she became the third and last female All Star to make head of house, leading her straight to the finale. She went for all the girls as her BFFs and guess what, the house questioned that too.
Watch Ilebaye's journey
It was quite the journey for the Gen Z Baddie and as Omayemi Arawore, Moniepoint Nigeria Creative Director said during the live finale of Big Brother Naija All Stars, “Big Brother Naija is the biggest entertainment platform in Africa” and this means that Ilebaye has just earned the title as one of Africa’s biggest stars, the ultimate Big Brother Naija All Stars winner.
